We handle personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules as they become applicable. Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) or UK GDPR applies to a particular processing activity, this policy also explains the information relevant under those laws.
Who we are

What we collect and why
Contact form information
When you contact us through the website, we may collect:
- your name;
- email address;
- company or organisation, if provided; and
- the contents of your message.
We use this information to read, manage and respond to your enquiry.
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis is generally our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. Where your enquiry relates to entering into a contract with us, processing may instead be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into that contract.
We normally retain correspondence for up to 24 months after our last substantive communication with you, unless we need to keep it longer for an ongoing business relationship, to establish or defend legal claims, or to comply with a legal obligation.
IP address used for contact-form security
When you submit the contact form, we temporarily process your IP address to limit repeated submissions and protect the form from spam, automated abuse and bulk messaging.
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in protecting the security and availability of our website.
For this rate-limiting purpose, the IP address is held temporarily in memory for approximately one minute and is not added to the enquiry email we receive.
Server and security logs
Our infrastructure may create technical logs containing information such as:
- IP address;
- browser or device information;
- date and time of requests;
- pages or resources requested; and
- technical or security events.
We use these logs to operate the website, investigate errors, maintain security and detect abuse.
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining the security, reliability and availability of our systems.
These logs are ordinarily retained for less than 30 days. We may retain relevant records for longer where necessary to investigate a security incident, protect our legal rights or comply with applicable law.
Theme preference
If you choose a light or dark theme, the website stores that preference in your browser
under rsf-theme.
It is used only to remember your display preference. It remains on your device until you change it, clear your browser storage or otherwise remove it.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not use the website to track you across unrelated websites.
We do not use personal data collected through this website to create advertising profiles or make decisions about you solely through automated processing.
The theme preference described above is stored locally in your browser only to provide the display setting you selected.
If we introduce analytics, advertising technologies or other non-essential tracking in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent before using them.
Who may receive your data
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third parties for their own direct marketing.
We use service providers where necessary to operate the website and communicate with you.
Amazon Web Services
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host parts of the website and operate the contact form.
Contact-form submissions may be processed using services including AWS Lambda and Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). The application infrastructure that processes contact-form submissions is hosted in India.
AWS processes relevant data as part of providing infrastructure and communications services to us.
Our email provider
After a contact-form message is delivered, the persistent copy is stored in our business email system.
Our email provider may process information contained in your message as necessary to provide email hosting, security, delivery and related services.
Google Fonts
The website currently uses Google Fonts.
Where fonts are loaded directly from Google's servers, your browser connects to Google in order to retrieve the font files. As part of that connection, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser information.
We do not use Google Fonts for advertising, analytics or behavioural profiling.
Legal and regulatory disclosures
We may disclose personal data where reasonably necessary:
- to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request;
- to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim;
- to investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents; or
- to protect the rights, property or safety of RSF Ventures or others.
Where your data is processed
Our website backend and contact-form processing are hosted on AWS infrastructure in India.
Static website content may be delivered through a global content-delivery network, which means a request for public website content may be served from infrastructure located closer to you.
Contact-form messages are processed by our website infrastructure and then delivered to our business email system. Our email provider may process or store email data in other locations depending on its infrastructure and services.
Google may also process technical connection information in locations outside India when Google Fonts are loaded directly from its servers.
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies and our processing involves a transfer that is subject to international-transfer restrictions, we will use a transfer mechanism or safeguard permitted by the applicable law where required.
You may contact hello@rsfventures.in if you would like more information about where your personal data is processed or any safeguards that apply.
Your rights
Your rights depend on which data protection laws apply to the particular processing.
You may contact us to ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- provide you with a copy of personal data you are entitled to receive;
- correct inaccurate, misleading, incomplete or out-of-date information;
- delete personal data where we no longer have a lawful reason or need to retain it; or
- address a concern or grievance about how your personal data has been handled.
Where applicable under Indian data protection law, you may also have the right to nominate another individual to exercise your data-protection rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may also have the right, depending on the circumstances, to:
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- have certain personal data provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format where the right to data portability applies;
- request that qualifying data be transmitted to another organisation where technically feasible; and
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Some rights are subject to conditions and exceptions under applicable law. For example, we may need to retain information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
How to exercise your rights
Send your request to hello@rsfventures.in.
Please describe what you are asking us to do and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records.
We may ask you for reasonable information to verify your identity before providing or changing personal data. This helps prevent personal data from being disclosed to someone who is not entitled to receive it.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, this will normally be within one month, subject to any extension permitted by law for complex or multiple requests.
Complaints and grievances
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at hello@rsfventures.in so that we can investigate and respond.
Where applicable, you may also have the right to raise a complaint with the relevant data protection authority. Depending on where you are and which law applies, this may include:
- India: the Data Protection Board of India or another competent authority as provided under applicable law;
- European Economic Area: the competent data protection supervisory authority, including the authority in the country where you live or work; or
- United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
You are not required to give up any statutory right to complain to a regulator by contacting us first.
Keeping your data safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
These measures include HTTPS for website communications and restricting access to enquiries and administrative systems to people who need access for legitimate business purposes.
No internet-connected system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. For that reason, please do not submit highly confidential, financial, medical or other sensitive information through our general contact form.
If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate it and notify affected individuals and relevant authorities where required by applicable law.
Children
This website is intended for a business and professional audience and is not designed or directed at children.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from anyone under 18 through this website.
If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, contact hello@rsfventures.in and we will review the matter and take appropriate steps, including deletion where appropriate and permitted by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when our services, technology, providers or legal obligations change.
When we make a material change, we will publish the updated version on this page and change the Last updated date at the top.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically if you want to know how we currently handle personal data.
